Santiago view

In November 2004 we visited Chile, South America, arriving in the Capital of Santiago. The above photo of the Santiago metro area was taken from the San Cristóbal Hill which we reached by a funícular. On the top of the hill there is a colossal statue of the Virgin. The photo below was taken in the Plaza de Armas in the central of the city. It shows the Cathedral, a modern skyscraper and the ornate Post Office building. The Plaza is full of local citizens and visitors and is a popular gathering site in the city.
